MOTI Technologies, LLC (“MOTI,” “we,” “us,” “our”) provides a platform connecting service
professionals (“MOTI Pros”) with clients via video calls, messaging, booking, and payments
(the “Services”). Protecting user privacy and complying with applicable laws is core to how
we operate.
What Information We Collect
Account and Profile Information
Name, email address, phone number, profile photo or username, and other basic identity
details when you sign up or update your profile.
Contacts and Address Book
With your permission, MOTI may access your device’s address book or contact list to
suggest potential MOTI connections. We upload contact identifiers (such as phone numbers
or email addresses) only for matching and suggestion purposes.
We do not retain your full address book indefinitely or publish your non-MOTI contacts to
other users.
Usage, Session, and Analytics Data
Information about how you use the Services, such as login timestamps, screen navigation,
session durations, video-call start and end times, and device activity metrics.
Crash logs, performance diagnostics, and aggregated analytics to help improve the app and
Services.
Call and Session Metadata
MOTI retains metadata about video/audio calls: who participated, when, how long, and
whether recording was enabled (if consented to).
If a session is recorded (with consent), MOTI may retain file references,
timestamps, and related metadata. Actual storage, viewing, or sharing of the
recording is controlled by the user making the recording.
Payment and Billing Information
MOTI facilitates payments via third-party processors (e.g., Stripe). We collect and
transmit necessary billing and bank/account identifiers, but we do not store your
full credit card or bank account numbers on our systems.
MOTI deducts platform fees as disclosed; clients or MOTI Pros receive or pay net
amounts as calculated after fees.
Support and Communications
If you contact MOTI for customer support or otherwise communicate with us, MOTI may
retain copies of communications, attachments, and any user-provided information.
Device and Technical Information
IP address, device type/model, operating system version, app version, advertising or
device identifiers (if permitted under your settings), timestamps, and related system
metadata.
We may use cookies, local storage, and mobile-app analytics tools for operational and diagnostic
purposes.
How We Use the Information
We use personal data for the following purposes:
To deliver and improve MOTI Services — user authentication, booking, call routing,
scheduling, connection suggestions, and user interface optimizations.
To enable MOTI Pros and clients to connect — matching, suggesting contacts, facilitating
communication, and supporting video sessions.
To manage payments and fees — authorizing transactions, calculating platform fees,
resolving disputes, and preventing fraud or unauthorized transactions.
To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and illegal activity or other
violations of our Terms of Use or applicable laws and regulations.
To support users — responding to technical issues, customer service requests, policy
violations, and user inquiries.
To conduct analytics, product research, and service improvements — including monitoring
system performance, crash diagnostics, and aggregate usage patterns.
To comply with legal obligations — responding to lawful requests, court orders,
subpoenas, or other legal process, and cooperating with law enforcement or regulators
when required.
How We Share Information
MOTI does not sell personal data. Information may be shared in the following situations:
With user consent or direction — for example, when a user explicitly permits MOTI Pros
to view certain profile information or to store or share session recordings.
With trusted third-party service providers who perform functions on MOTI’s behalf (e.g.
payment processors, analytics, crash-reporting, cloud storage, customer support). We
require these providers to abide by data-processing and confidentiality obligations.
For legal and safety purposes — if required by law, court order, subpoena, or
regulation, or to protect MOTI or its users from fraud, abuse, or other harm.
In connection with mergers or acquisitions — should MOTI or its assets be sold or
transferred, personal data may be part of the transferred assets. The acquiring entity
must agree to honor this Privacy Policy or a successor policy.
In de-identified or aggregated form — we may combine information so that it no longer
identifies individual users, then use or share it for analytics, research, or product
improvement.
Retention of Your Information
We retain user information as long as it is necessary to provide MOTI Services, comply
with legal or regulatory obligations, enforce our agreements, resolve disputes, and
prevent fraud.
If you close or deactivate your account, MOTI will delete or anonymize most personal
data from active systems within a reasonable timeframe, while retaining necessary
transactional records or metadata for legal, financial, or fraud-prevention pu
rposes.
MOTI may retain limited backup copies of data for a reasonable period or where required
by law, but access will be restricted.
Security
We apply industry-standard security measures, including encryption of data in transit
(TLS/SSL), secure authentication practices, access-controls, firewalls, secure key
management, and regular data-security reviews.
Internal access to personal data is limited to MOTI personnel or contractors who need it
to perform their jobs, and those parties must follow confidentiality policies.
No system is fully secure. While MOTI takes reasonable steps to protect your data, MOTI
cannot guarantee absolute security against every possible threat.
Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have certain rights and choices
regarding your personal information:
Account settings: you can review and update personal data through your profile or
account settings.
Closing your account: you can deactivate or delete your account, and request deletion or
anonymization of personal data, subject to legal and operational retention obligations.
Access and correction: you may request a copy of the personal data MOTI holds and ask to
correct inaccuracies.
Object to or limit data processing: in jurisdictions that provide such rights, you can
ask MOTI to restrict or stop certain uses of your data.
Data portability: where required by law, you may request a machine-readable export of
your personal data.
Opt-out or revoke consent: you may revoke consent for things like address-book syncing,
analytics tracking, or optional services, by changing app permissions or contacting MOTI
Support.
Contact MOTI: to exercise your rights or make a request concerning your personal data,
contact MOTI at support@motiapp.com (or the designated privacy contact).
International Transfers
MOTI operates servers and uses service providers located in the United States and
potentially in other countries. If you access MOTI from outside the U.S., your data may
be transferred across borders.
MOTI takes commercial and contractual steps to ensure that transferred personal data
continues to be protected in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable
legal requirements.
Children
MOTI is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data
from minors under 18.
If MOTI becomes aware that a minor under 18 has provided personal data without parental
consent, MOTI will delete that data as required by law.
Updates to This Policy
MOTI may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our
services, legal obligations, or best practices.
If MOTI makes material changes, we will provide notice via email, in-app notification,
or a prominent notice on the MOTI website.
Continued use of MOTI’s Services after the effective date of the updated policy
constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
