Minimum version and requirements

MOTI is built and tested for iOS 9 and higher. The app is formatted for iPhone only, so iPad users are out of luck at the moment. We recommend an iPhone 5S or newer.

Video recording

We recommend using at least an iPhone 6S or later model for the best video chat experience, especially during recording. Video recording during a chat will cause strain on older hardware and could lead to visual and audio glitches, low frame rates, and quick battery drain. If you intend to start a long video chat we recommend charging your battery first, or leave it plugged in if possible.

Login/Signup

You will need to login with the same service that you signed up with (Facebook, Email, etc). In the future we may include the ability to login to your account with multiple methods, if enough users request this feature. So far they haven't.

PRO Accounts

Anyone with a US based bank should be able to sign up as a merchant and start making and receiving calls on MOTI. All information in the signup form is required and it is up to you to make sure it is accurate. If there any issues with the information you provided you might be asked to update it at some point. If this doesn't happen however your merchant account could go into a suspended state. When that happens any money that you have earned will be held until the issue is rectified. If you notice that payments aren't showing up in your bank account after 2-3 days your account is probably on hold and you should email MOTI support.

PRO Accounts: charging for your time

You can choose to charge customers a rate of your choosing, or cover the cost of the call so your customers and clients aren't charged at the start of the call. If you set a rate, your customer will be presented with that rate before the call starts. They will need to accept that rate and set a time limit on the call before the call can begin. If you cover the call fee, the user will be presented with a simple Accept/Decline choice. No-fee calls have a 60 minute limit and you (the PRO user) will see a pre-authorized charge of $6.00 on your selected credit card. Once the call ends you will be charged the final amount. Your credit/debit card statement may not show the reconciled amount right away - it might take 24 hours to show up adjusted correctly on your card activity or statement.

Team Accounts

We have a team account feature that lets one Pro user account add users to their account, and all sub-accounts will operate under a single bank account. It's up to the team owner to figure out how to pay the sub-account users outside of MOTI however. This is great for companies or even for people who want to operate as a Pro user but aren't based in the United States. As long as the team account holder has a U.S. bank then its team members can be from anywhere. Team admins will have access to a website that lets them manage users and see each user's monthly statements. Email if you're interested in converting your Pro account to a team account.

App availability

MOTI app is available for download from the Apple App Store in over 60 countries. The app is only in English and all currency is in USD, for now. Here's the full list:
